Unfortunately, at the least expected moment the fuel pump decides to remind the surprised rider of its existence and with smaller or bigger signs of its end takes a bike to a standstill. Damn, to mount an engine guard made of plastic onto such a motorcycle?? Someone at KTM marketing/sales department took care of future accessory parts sale. The genuine guard may be good enough for everyday use, but it will fall apart with a stronger impact. For me, a compulsory exchange. (more…)
It happens that in earlier models the rocker arms can fail causing devastation in the engine. Manufacturing defect, material, construction? There are many theories. It is not that bad if bearing collapses on a rocker and the owner quickly catches the strange noise from the engine. Worse if the arm cracks spreading broken bits further in the engine.
